The Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award, established in 1996 and named after the tennis icon Stefan Edberg, has a distinguished history. Edberg himself was a frequent recipient of the ATP Sportsmanship Award between 1988 and 1995. The current award has been bestowed upon select players who epitomize sportsmanship in the last 28 years, with notable previous winners including Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, who dominated the honors from 2004 to 2021.
